It’s that time of year again! We’re excited to announce Baltimore Abortion Fund’s 8th Annual Fund-a-Thon fundraising season! Between NOW and April 30th we’ll raise all of the money we can to assist people seeking abortion care in Maryland. We’re aiming to raise $100,000 this year to meet our goal of assisting even more people seeking care in Maryland. Folks all over the state of Maryland and beyond are forming and joining teams, offering incentives for donations, and planning events to raise money for BAF!

1. What is Fund-a-Thon?

Fund-A-Thon is the huge national fundraising effort organized by the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) every year that harnesses the collective power of member funds to raise record-breaking amounts for abortion access. Abortion funds help remove systemic barriers people face to ensure they have access to abortion care no matter their race, socioeconomic status, age, gender identity, or where they live. We are so proud that various communities in Maryland come together to make abortion funding a reality in our state.

2. Why should I care?

Abortion care is under attack in many states and BAF is committed to helping people who live in or travel to Maryland access the services they need. BAF is a non-profit organization that provides financial and logistical assistance to people who live in or travel to Maryland for abortion care. We’re aiming to raise $100,000 this year to meet our goal of assisting even more people seeking care in Maryland.

• Create or join a team or become a team captain. Friends don’t let friends fund abortion alone! Create a team with some of your friends / enemies / frenemies / colleagues / jazzercise classmates / union members / beer brewing club friends, whomever.
